Mothers are the Heart of a Home

Mothers are tireless. Mothers are special. Mothers are patient. Mothers are kind.

Mothers are incredibly important to Habitat families as they help provide a stable home to the children growing up in our community.

Meet Margaret and her 3 children!

Margaret's home was this year's Women Build home and what a perfect fit her family was.

Originally from Sudan, Margaret has been living in the United States for the past 17 years. She is a single mother to 3 amazing children, ranging in ages from 2 to 9 years old. Margaret was motivated to apply to Habitat's homeownership program because of her children. Margaret wants her 3 children to grow and live in a stable and safe environment where they have more room to play. Margaret was also motivated to apply because of her home country. She states, "My country has had so much war. I want to own a home so that I can live in peace." Margaret's dream of homeownership became a reality for her on November 5th, when her new Habitat home dedicated!
