Community Development Coordinator

Supervisor:  Bolaji Ogbulu, Community Development Manager

Time Commitment:  Full time, Tuesday through Saturday

Position Overview: The Community Development Coordinator will assist in the program planning, development, and facilitation of “Love Your Neighborhood” events, our emergency repair program, and implementation of the Community Action Plan. The core work will be event planning and community engagement.

Essential Functions 

  • Secure and process Home Repair Applications
  • Co-plan and facilitate Habitat for Humanity homeowner engagement meetings
  • Maintain supporter and partner database
  • Organize materials and supplies for events
  • Attend planning and partnership meetings
  • Assist in communicating with homeowners, stakeholders, and partners
  • Distribute information to residents and stakeholders in event areas
  • Oversee and work critical functions during the events.
  • Assist staff with special projects on as-needed basis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Commitment to mission of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality, honesty, and ethics
  • Computer experience (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to initiate and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Experience working in collaboration with other individuals and community organizations helpful
  • Interest in construction and willingness to learn new skills

Training Opportunities: To promote success in this position, staff will receive training in a variety of areas, including but not limited to advocacy, organizing, community outreach, developing partnerships, Lojic mapping, identifying housing needs and appropriate housing solutions.
