About ReStore

The Store That Builds Homes.

What’s the ReStore?

The Habitat ReStore is a non-profit thrift store and donation center of gently used furniture, appliances, building materials and more. The proceeds from our two store locations are reinvested into our mission to help local families build stable, affordable housing in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville. This is why we call the Habitat ReStore the store that builds homes!

When you donate items to the ReStore, you’re making a difference. Not only are you giving life back into the unwanted treasures, but you’re helping keep household items out of our city’s landfills.

When you shop at the ReStore, you’re getting a great deal – all merchandise is sold at a fraction of retail prices. And the proceeds are helping us build more Habitat homes!

When you volunteer at the ReStore, you’re part of something bigger. Your time and talent is helping us build a world – and a city – where every family has a decent and affordable house to call home.

What Can You Buy and Donate at the ReStore?

The Habitat ReStore offers a free pick-up service for large or bulk items that cannot fit into your vehicle. To schedule a donation pick-up, please check our donation guidelines first and then you can either schedule your donation online or call our Donation Line at 502.805.1416.

The Habitat ReStore accepts donated items that we can easily sell. There are many factors that go into why more items are not accepted as donations, such as government policies (dishwashers), liability (ladders) and consumer trends (entertainment centers). Accepting donated items that we can easily sell contributes to our mission to support Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville’s vision of a world – and a city – where everyone has a decent place to live.

Yes, it is! We will give you a donation receipt that you can use for deduction purposes. Please note that Habitat ReStore does not determine a value for your items on the receipt.

Yes! Habitat accepts donations from both businesses and individuals. Donations from businesses offers our shoppers unique items to browse through that they may not be able to find at a big box retailer. If you are a business looking to donate some items, please email restore@louisvillehabitat.org.

Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to repair or touch-up items. We ask that you donate items that are in good, clean, working condition.

Sorry, we do not accept payments over the phone. We ask that you come into one of our two Louisville locations to buy an item. Once purchased, we can hold your item(s) for 3 days to accommodate pickups.

Let's be friends! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see what’s new in our stores!
