Faith & Community Groups
How Will You Make A Difference?
Faith Groups
Our work in the community provides an opportunity for people to put their faith and God’s love into action. We believe that individuals from different backgrounds and cultures, regardless of faith tradition, can come together to build homes, communities, and hope. It’s through the process of working side-by-side that “you” and “me” becomes “us” and “we.” And, we realize we are far more alike than we are different.
Whether your group builds or renovates a home, provides hospitality for volunteers or raises funds to support our mission, you’ll help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better life.

Community & School Groups
At Habitat, volunteers come together, with a wide range of experience, to build community and hope! We welcome volunteers from any community or non-profit group, college or high school. Group volunteer opportunities include construction, landscaping, community development and ReStore’s paint recycling program. You’ll learn new skills and the value of teamwork all while giving a family a hand up to start building a better future.

Frequently Asked Questions
Volunteer groups can be up to 8-10 volunteers, depending on availability. Have a unique group size? Let us know and we’ll work to customize a day of service for you!
For groups of 8-10 volunteers, there is no cost to volunteer with Habitat. However, if your faith or community group is looking to give back financially, in addition to volunteering, we’d love to talk with you!
Please complete the Faith and Community Groups Contact Form and Habitat staff will respond and begin to schedule your group’s event day.
Groups are welcome Wednesdays through Saturdays, all 12 months. The great thing about Habitat is that you do not need construction skills to volunteer! All a volunteer needs is a willingness to learn and a desire to serve.
Event days are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, unless the group is volunteering with landscaping. Landscaping days are from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.
We typically do not break our days into shifts on the jobsite. Groups can set up a full day or half-day experience.
For a day of service, volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, hat, sunscreen and bug spray. Habitat supplies the water and all of the tools and materials needed for the day. If a volunteer wants to bring his or her own tools, please be sure the items are properly labeled.
Lunch is not provided. Volunteers need to bring a lunch to site, unless told otherwise. Lunch breaks onsite are typically 30 minutes.
We ask that volunteers dress for the weather and wear clothes that can get dirty. All volunteers MUST wear closed-toe shoes.
Since volunteers build year-round, our Core Crew Leaders will work with Habitat staff to determine if it is safe to work in extreme temperatures. We ask that volunteers show up to the work sites, even if it is raining, unless they have heard from Habitat staff stating otherwise. Weather cancellations happen on the day of the event and onsite. Volunteers will work in light rain but do not complete exterior work in heavy rain or thunderstorms.
